31 Down

Chase The Bitch

31 down created a dream prelude for Tchaikovsky's classic opera "PIQUE DAME" (Queen of Spades). Here, in booze sodden 31 Down tradition, renamed after the popular poker game. Helen Tremble plays a lonely prostitute, eager to find a new life with her lover, Mike Sharpie, but, alas, Mike has found an addiction to solving the mystery behind a card game that he cannot give up. A photographer is hired by a local newspaper to track down Helen on the night of her tragic suicide.
The inconspicuous photographer snaps pictures of Helen mingling amongst the crowd in the theater space, while he eats as many doughnuts as possible and chasing it with whiskey, Pepto Bismol and coffee.
